Native Lands Jigsaw Puzzle
My partner and I created an iMovie tutorial about the Catalyst's Jigsaw Puzzle called Native Lands. This tutorial really helped me put in perspective what a Trailer needs to offer to be informative. The catalyst has lots of people going in and out. This was a challenge because we needed it to be quiet during our filming. We tried to make the best of it and had to retake scenes a few times. A lot goes into creating s tutorial. It needs to be short and to the point but also offer enough details to make e tutorial informative to the viewers. This was a challenge for us but it was a great way for us to learn. iMovie is a great resource to use for creating tutorials. I have used iMovie several times in the past but I learned even more about the features of iMovie while creating this tutorial. I learned that iMovie allows you to fast forward and adjust voices throughout the video. iMovie makes it easy for users to put scenes and add video clips wherever you need them and rearrange.
My partner and I learned so much about the Catalyst. It offers so many great resources that students can learn from. It is not only a great resource for students but there's so many great games that kids can enjoy too. I look forward to using some of these resources and ideas in my classroom someday. The Catalyst offers a help desk, as well as many computers and educational resources for students. We were inteeested in the Jigsaw Puzzle because I am an elementary education student and my partner is a social studies secondary student. The Jigsaw Puzzle would be great to incorporate into a unit lesson over Native Americans. I think it would be a great idea to have students work in groups and take a break from regular lessons and homework and work with partners at a round table on the Puzzle. Puzzles are great for cognitive development and it also teaches patience and teamwork.
