My First Infographics made with Easel.ly
I created my first infographics poster using the app Easel.ly. Easel.ly is super easy to use and the best part is, it's free! It is an app that is iPad and computer friendly and individuals can create posters and other designs with ease. Easel.ly is a great app and has won many awards! I had never used Easel.ly before so I wanted to give it a try, and I was pleased. The app makes it easy to add text and drag it wherever you want, adjust font size and color. Adding pictures is a breeze. My first step to creating my infographic design was to download the app. After the app was downloaded I explored the app and looked through the different background options that were available. I chose one I thought was fitting and then looked through the different free icons that were available. I created an infographics poster about commonly misspelled words. These are words many older and younger students struggle with, I think this poster would be a great resource in the classroom. The app provides many different free icons such as food shapes, and animals. (I used a few different animal icons in my infographic.) Easel.ly offers free tutorials and will walk individuals through the steps to get started. There are also great YouTube videos available that will help with questions!
I think Easel.ly is a great resource for educators to use because there is a design for everyone. This is an app that is simple enough for students to use as well. I would like to have my future students create their own inforgraphic design as a project someday. Infographics are great for getting an idea or lesson across in a fun and helpful way. These posters could be printed off and hung up in the classroom and used for reference. I look forward to using Easel.ly in the future in my classroom. To access the Easel.ly website click here.
